HOW WE’RE HELPING
Our work is more important than ever. FFP is committed to bringing pro bono financial advice to those who need it most amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Why Now’s the Time to Contribute from Your Donor Advised Fund. At the close of 2019, the collective asset base for all Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) exceeded $121 billion. With the COVID-19 crisis forcing nonprofits to cut services and staff or even shut down altogether, the need has never been greater for individuals to direct grants from their DAFs to keep our nation’s critical social services afloat. To make a contribution to FFP from your Donor Advised Fund, contact your DAF sponsoring organization and provide them with our Federal Tax ID: 58-1446336.
FFP & AARP Host Hotlines for Seniors in Need of Financial Guidance. On April 30th, FFP collaborated with AARP on a virtual event that educated over 4,300 participants on how to maximize their Social Security benefits. Approximately 50 CFP volunteers provided pro bono financial guidance, helping to answer the 1,400 questions asked during the session via online chat and providing 60 one-on-one virtual consultations. FFP will host its next event in this series in August.
New COVID-19 Financial Resource Guide & Webinar Available in Resource Center. FFP has put published a COVID-19 Financial Resource Guide to provide pro bono advisors and clients with a comprehensive but concise overview of the stimulus package provisions related to unemployment insurance, rent/mortgage, retirement accounts, taxes and more. Advisors can also access our recent webinar Pro Bono Financial Planning During the COVID-19 Crisis: What Advisors Need to Know for a more in-depth dive into these topics.
